Currently, Private Investigators are not licensed within the UK. However, there have been many conversations in parliament surrounding the regulation in the industry.
However here at Private Detective Birmingham, we believe that licensing would be great for the industry. Ensuring everyone operates to a particular standard and ensure all investigators are acting lawfully.
Private Detective Birmingham are current member of The Institute Of Professional Investigators. Private Investigators Regulation is endorsed by the IPI.
The Institute of Professional Investigators has recently collaborated with WAPI and UKPIN. Two other professional organizations in the sector, to address the gap in licensing. Together, they have developed a joint code of ethics and professional conduct for investigators to follow.
All members of the professional bodies mentioned above must adhere to the established code. We hope other professional bodies will follow suit.
